The profoundly sad and deeply tragic story behind the murder of Kobe Heisler. The story is made all the more painful as it is told by his loving mother, Amity Dimock. Kobe was a loving and gentle young man who happened to be autistic. While staying with his grandparents he had an manic episode that led to his grandparents calling the police for assistance. Soon after they reversed the 911 call as the episode was now stable. Police arrived shortly after and demanded to be let inside the house to confront the young man. This triggered a non violent, but emotional response from Kobe that led to tragedy. This is not an anti-police posting....But a call for sanity, empathy, and reform. Police are not properly trained to deal with mental health crisis. #autismisnotacrime Please help support this cause by giving to Kobe's cause and/or by spreading the word by sharing.
